The Ventura County Search and Rescue East Valley Team is comprised of highly dedicated and skilled volunteers who are able to respond to wilderness emergencies in Ventura County. Members are extensively trained in search techniques, technical rope rescue, tracking, swiftwater rescue, communications, winter operations, urban search and rescue, and search management.

Our Mission

The members of Ventura County East Valley Search and Rescue Team, operating under the authority of the Sheriff, will continue the mission set forth of responding to emergencies in Ventura County.  We will accomplish our mission by utilizing our extensive backcountry knowledge, advanced technical rescue skills and medical training. We will maintain a dedication of duty not only to the residents of and visitors to Ventura County, but also to other counties within the state who are in need of our assistance. We will always strive to provide the residents of Ventura County with the highest level of public service.

Don’t forget the Ten Essentials and let someone know your hiking plans. Many search and rescue incidents are prolonged because the travel plans of the missing persons are unknown. Fill out this form and give it to a responsible person who, in case of an emergency, can give the form to the agency in the jurisdiction to assist in search and rescue efforts.
