VCSAR 3 Physical Fitness Requirements Search and Rescue is a physically demanding activity. Members may have to search all day or all night in rough terrain, snow and ice, high elevation, and adverse weather conditions while carrying personal and team equipment. VCSAR 3 physical fitness requirement is an endurance test. Candidates should start preparing well ahead of the Physical Fitness test and Interview in the fall of 2011. Candidates should also consult with their physician before starting training. Endurance Test VCSAR 3 endurance test is a 3-mile hike with a 30-pound pack in 50 minutes. Candidates must provide a pack and 30-pounds of weight. Additional details will be provided at the Introduction Meeting. |
