The team
was staged in the City of Fillmore and assisted with evacuation
notifications in Fillmore and Piru areas.

Lost Hiker
Glacier Point, Yosemite National Park
A 58-year-old
male hiker was out taking pictures around Glacier Point
on Friday, September 14, when he lost the trail. A statewide
request went out on Sunday, September 16, for searchers.
The East Valley Team along with members of the Fillmore
team responded from Ventura County. On Monday the East
Valley Team searched an area near Taft Point. The subject
was found alive but cold around 08:45 hours by members
of the Marin team.

Two Lost Geocachers
Camarillo Springs
The team searched
for two overdue geocachers, a male and a female in their late
teens. Searchers found the subjects about a quarter mile from
the Camarillo Grove County Park off trail and without flashlights.
The searchers guided the subjects back to the park.

Injured Hiker
Tuolumne Meadows, Yosemite National Park
After searching two
days in the backcountry several of the search team members
were requested to assist in a medical rescue of a female
hiker who injured her leg while trying to cross the Tuolumne
River. The team assisted with medical treatment and transported
the patient to an ambulance. View photos of the rescue in

Lost Hiker
Volgelsang High Sierra Camp, Yosemite National Park
An 80-year-old
female hiker became separated from her hiking group on
Monday, July 30. A statewide request went out on Wednesday,
August 1, for Type 1 search teams to search the area
south of Tuolumne Meadows. All three Ventura County mountain
teams responded. The first wave searched August 2 and
3 while the second wave searched August 4 and 5. The
teams search rugged, rocky areas above 10,000 feet. The
major search effort was suspended on Sunday evening.

Lost Hiker
Point Mugu State Park
A 48-year-old female
hiker called 911 to report that she was lost in the Point
Mugu State Park. The search team was able to locate the
hiker along a trail and escort her out to the trail head.

Missing Elderly Woman
Templeton, San Luis Obispo County
An elderly woman
wandered away from a home in the rural area of Templeton
on Friday morning. San Luis Obispo County requested mutual
aid from search teams from Ventura, Los Angeles, and Santa
Barbara. Fifteen searchers from Ventura County including
8 members from the East Valley team responded. Teams searched
the hills of the many 50 acre lots in the area and along
stream beds. No sign of the missing woman was found in
the search area. The search was suspended Saturday evening.

Missing Man
San Miguel, San Luis Obispo County
San Luis Obispo
County requested the East Valley team on a search for a
missing despondent man in the San Miguel area. The subject
was found deceased in a river bed near his home.

Sunday, 18:30 – 20:00 Hours
Missing 7-year-old Boy
Thousand Oaks
The East Valley
team was called out to search for a missing seven-year-old
boy who got separated from his parents while hiking in
the hills south of Thousand Oaks. As the team started their
search the boy was found by a mountain biker who reunited
the boy with his parents.
